Our Road Map Towards Sustainability
You know, there's just something about riding a bike. It's that mix of fresh air, a bit of a workout, and, let's be honest, feeling like you're doing something good for the planet. Way better than sitting in traffic, right? Anyway, the more I was out there, the more I started thinking: LA's got so much cycling culture, why isn't there a brand that really reflects that? One that's made right here, with a different kind of vibe?
Cycling's having a moment, right? And I wanted to create a brand that felt like it was for everyone, no matter who you are or how you ride. My vision was simple: stylish clothes that look good on the road, on your commute, or just out and about. And not just for cyclists, either! I wanted to make pieces that anyone would love, that are both fashionable and sustainable. Plus, I wanted to keep it real – good quality, good for the planet, and good for your wallet. It's about making cycling fashion accessible to everyone.
You know, everyone's talking about 'sustainable fashion' these days, but it can feel a bit vague. For me, it's not just about using recycled fabrics, though that's important. It's about thinking long-term. We're not about churning out new stuff every season. We want to make clothes you'll love and wear for years. That means using quality, ethically sourced materials, including recycled ones whenever we can, and really focusing on the fit. We want you to be comfortable wearing our pieces over and over again, proving that 'fast fashion' is totally unnecessary.
What else makes us unique?
Made in Los Angeles, good for the environment and your pocketbook.
I'm an LA kid, through and through, and I wanted to build something that reflected that. Making our stuff here, with good materials and ethical practices, was non-negotiable. It's about reducing our footprint and supporting local jobs, and honestly, I don't think we could have done it anywhere else. We're all about treating people right, so we make sure our suppliers are on board with worker-friendly and eco-conscious practices.
Our Fabrics and Production
Waste is something that really bothers me. We're making sure our fabrics are ethically sourced and from bluesign® certified mills, and we're using recycled polyester. But that's just the start. I'm determined to make our brand a leader in sustainability. We're working towards becoming the first closed-loop cycling company in LA, because there are so many opportunities to make a difference. From eco-friendly production to smart shipping, we can do so much. And, honestly, saving our planet is worth more than anything.
Our Goal: We're really trying to make a difference with how much waste we create. That's why we're committed to using only recycled fabrics from now on. And we're working on a recycling program – send back your old gear, get store credit! We also want to create a place for you to buy and sell used Adventur•ish stuff, so it doesn't end up in a landfill. We're not perfect, but we're working towards these goals every day, because this is what really matters to us.
No Plastic Packaging
We're really passionate about doing our part for the planet, and that means taking our carbon footprint seriously. But we also believe in giving you the best. That's why we found Better Packaging Company. They're doing amazing things with sustainable packaging. And you know what? Our mailing bags are home compostable and biodegradable, made with plants! It's a small step, but it's a step in the right direction.
Our Delivery
Stephanie from PDQ bike couriers was a real force of nature. She ran her business with so much passion, and even though she had to close, she left a huge impression on me. We're now carrying on that passion with our own carbon-free bike delivery service for all LA orders. We'll deliver your packages right to your door or take them to the post office, helping both our customers and doing our part for the environment.
Our goal: One day we hope all orders will come with a carbon free cycling delivery – guaranteeing your package arrives via bicycle within 2-3 days.
Building a sustainable brand has been a real journey, but it's been so rewarding. When I started this brand in LA, I learned so much by just diving in and making mistakes. And honestly, I still learn something new every day, and I wouldn't have it any other way. But one thing I've never wavered on is my commitment to sustainable fashion and ethical sourcing. And I'd love for you to join us on this adventure! Follow us on social media for launch updates, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions at hello@adventurish.co. Your support is what keeps us going, and it means everything knowing our clothes make you feel good, inside and out.
