Our Road Map Towards Sustainability

There's something about cycling that just feels sustainable. Maybe it's the combination of fresh air and a little bit of healthy competition, but whatever it is, cycling is a more earth-friendly way to get around than driving. And while there are already a lot of great cycling brands out there, the more miles I spent on my bike, I started to think it's time for one that's made in Los Angeles that did things - differently.

Cycling has never been more popular in recent times, and I wanted to create a brand that would appeal equally no matter who you are. My goal is to make stylish clothes for bike riders of all backgrounds - from road warriors or leisurely commuting cyclists looking great while going about their day in style; non-cyclists alike could enjoy our products because they're not just fashionable but also sustainable! By making our products friendly towards both your wallet & the environment I hope everyone will feel included when it comes time to buying our clothing.

I understand there's a lot of talk about "sustainability" in fashion, but it can be hard to know what that really means. For me personally – eco-friendly fashion is not just about using ethically sourced recycled fabrics, it's also thinking of the future. We don't plan to design new items every season - our designs are meant to last and they're created with you in mind! By choosing quality fabrics that are ethically sourced and recycled materials whenever possible; by paying attention detail when making sure everything fits right so people can wear their clothes over again without getting uncomfortable, we show there really isn’t a need for “fast fashion" anymore.

What else makes us unique?

Made in Los Angeles, good for the environment and your pocketbook.

I was raised in Los Angeles, and wanted to promote the city that I love. I was determined to make my products with high quality materials while maintaining ethical working conditions so that we could reduce our carbon footprint as well as create jobs locally by supporting sustainable manufacturing practices. I felt that could only be done here. We care about the people who make our clothes, and we want them to be treated fairly. That's why all our suppliers have practices that support worker-friendly organizations or environmentally friendly business models.

Our Fabrics and Production

We care about not creating excess waste. Our fabrics have been ethically sourced and made by bluesign® certified mills; with their guidance we've incorporated recycled polyester within our product line as well - but that's not enough! I also know how important it is to use sustainable or responsibly sourced materials in order create apparel for a brand like ours; which means moving forward all of my efforts will go towards becoming the first closed loop cycling company based out of Los Angeles because there are so many possibilities here from eco-friendly manufacturing practices down to resourceful distribution channels...and you just can't put a price on saving Mother Earth.

Our Goal: Taking better accountability for the excess that Adventur•ish produces means replacing all our fabrics with recycled fabrics and elastane in the future. It means by offering you a recycling program soon-ish, we will accept our items and issue credits on used products made from recycled materials! This also includes establishing an online marketplace where people can buy once-used goods they no longer need so others don't get hurt when these end up as trash instead of being resold like new ones are—we're not quite there yet but trying hard every day towards this goal because it matters to us more than anything else.

No Plastic Packaging

We’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint and finding ways of doing so without compromising on quality. There are billions of plastic currently on this planet. After researching various companies, we found that Better Packaging Company is a perfect fit for us because they offer innovative and environmentally friendly packaging solutions which aligns nicely with what we stand behind as an organization! Our packaging a certified home compostable, fully biodegradable mailing satchel partly made from plants.

Our Delivery

Early on in building this brand I had met Stephanie of PDQ bike couriers who successfully ran her business for many years. Unfortunately during the pandemic she closed up shop, but her determination left a huge impact that is still felt by many around town today! We have a new mission: to provide carbon free bicycle delivery services for all Los Angeles orders. We'll deliver your packages right at the front door or bike them to the post office -- and take care not only of customers' needs but also those pesky UPS man's headaches (or woman!).

Our goal: One day we hope all orders will come with a carbon free cycling delivery – guaranteeing your package arrives via bicycle within 2-3 days.

The journey to becoming a sustainable and closed-loop brand has been long, but it's worth the effort. When I decided to create this brand Made in LA years ago, like most entrepreneurs, I learned a lot by trial and error. I still do and think this can sometimes be a good thing. Don’t you? If there’s one thing clear, I've never lost sight of championing for a sustainable fashion brand that uses ethically sourced materials from suppliers who are committed to sustainability themselves. I hope you too join me on this adventure. You can follow us on Instagram or Facebook or even Twitter for updates regarding our launch. Plus, if you have any questions about sustainability or ethical production, please reach out at hello@adventurish.co! Thank you all again for your support – there’s no better feeling then knowing my clothes make people feel good inside and out.
